The mission of Clare’s Light is twofold. First, the initiative seeks to honor the Christian witness of Sister Clare Crockett, Servant of God, whose simple and unguarded joy continues to inspire our work.

Second, the initiative honors the legacy of my sister, Clare. Her light remains a source of profound hope, guiding this project to shine in places where others might not look.

Clare’s Light is about paying attention. It is about recognizing the inherent dignity of every human person and believing that small acts of care are a direct reflection of God’s love for us all.

Many individuals possess the drive to pursue their education but simply need a small boost to reach their potential. Clare’s Light aims to be that humble step stool. The initiative provides the resources and support that help a student gain traction. Clare’s Light is not interested in large programs that lose the human connection. The goal is to be a light that helps others shine, trusting that we are all called to lift one another up as we walk through this world

Clare’s Light focuses on the God-given worth of the individual. One example would be when student kits are provided, they are intentionally free of branding. The idea here is that receiving support should be empowering rather than labeling.

Students should be able to focus on their studies with the understanding that they are created with dignity.

Clare’s Light fosters a relationship where every student is seen and supported as a person rather than a recipient.

Clare’s Light believes in the power of reflection as a spiritual and personal practice. The students who are recipients of assistance from Clare’s Light are not only encouraged but required to write these updates as it allows the students to practice accountability and recognize the progress they are making. The hope is that by experiencing this grace, students will feel inspired to pay it forward when they are in a position to help others.
